Accessibility Conformance Statement
FetchToolKit is engineered to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Every utility workspace is designed to operate completely via keyboard navigation and screen readers without requiring pointer dragging.
1. Built-In WCAG 2.2 Level AA Engineering Guardrails
- Contrast Minimum (SC 1.4.3 & 1.4.11): Our “Swiss Precision Instrument” design tokens enforce at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body text and labels and 3:1 for interactive borders across both Light and Dark themes.
- Dragging Movements (SC 2.5.7): Every drag-and-drop file zone (
FileDropzone), quality slider, and split-curtain image comparator (BeforeAfterCompare) includes a single-click button or direct numeric input alternative. - Target Size Minimum (SC 2.5.8): Interactive buttons, mode toggles, and navigation links maintain a minimum hit target of
44x44 px(min-h-[44px]). - Focus Not Obscured (SC 2.4.11): Global
scroll-padding-top: 5remensures focused controls are never hidden beneath the sticky navigation header. - Status Messages (SC 4.1.3): Background Web Worker completions, file validations, and clipboard copy actions are coalesced into a polite global live region (
#ftk-live-status) so VoiceOver and NVDA announce outcomes without stealing focus.
2. Supported Keyboard Shortcuts & Navigation
| Shortcut | Context | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Cmd + K / Ctrl + K / / | Global (outside text inputs) | Opens the instant tool finder command palette. |
| ArrowUp / ArrowDown + Enter | Command Palette | Cycles through matching tools and navigates to the selected utility. |
| Escape | Command Palette / Dialogs | Closes the active modal and restores focus to the trigger button. |
| Tab (First Press) | Any Page | Reveals the “Skip to main workspace” bypass link. |
3. Known Limitations & Accessibility Feedback
Visual image quality inspection inside the split-curtain comparison slider inherently relies on visual perception, though exact byte sizes, percentage savings, pixel dimensions, and EXIF removal badges are exposed as programmatic text for assistive technologies.
