Cookies & Advertising Disclosure

This disclosure explains what local storage keys FetchToolKit uses, how our provider-neutral AdSlot architecture enforces strict layout and consent boundaries, and how you can manage or withdraw advertising consent at any time.

1. Essential First-Party Browser Storage Inventory

FetchToolKit does not set first-party tracking cookies. We use only two strictly functional window.localStorage entries on your device:

Key NameStorage TypePurposeRetention
fetchtoolkit-themelocalStorageRemembers your chosen interface theme (light or dark) to prevent a flash of unstyled content.Persistent (until cleared)
fetchtoolkit-consentlocalStorageStores your Google Consent Mode v2 / IAB TCF v2.2 advertising and analytics consent decision.Persistent (resettable below)

For visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and globally, FetchToolKit initializes all four Google Consent Mode v2 parameters to 'denied' before any external script can execute:

  • ad_storage: 'denied'
  • ad_user_data: 'denied'
  • ad_personalization: 'denied'
  • analytics_storage: 'denied'

During our initial v1.0.0 launch, live ad network scripts are disabled (NEXT_PUBLIC_ENABLE_ADS=false). When display advertising is enabled in post-launch releases (v1.1.0+) and you explicitly grant consent through a Google-certified IAB TCF v2.2 Consent Management Platform, authorized display adapters (Google AdSense or Monetag In-Page Banners, strictly one provider per reserved slot) may use cookies to serve relevant display banners and cap frequency. We strictly prohibit popunders, interstitials, full-screen overlays, and auto-redirect ad formats.

You may reset or reopen your local consent preferences at any time using the button below. Resetting your preferences immediately restores all advertising and analytics storage flags to 'denied' without affecting any tool on FetchToolKit.
